Turn out the lights! The party's over!

Those of you who still have delusions of a trip to this years playoffs probably need an intervention. As I have mentioned in the past, its not the record that concerns me most, its how they've gotten to 3 and 5. They dont run the ball, they dont protect the quarterback, they dont stop the run and they miss tackles at an alarming rate. These arent issues that can be solved easily or in a timely manner. On two ocassions, they had an opportunity to build momentum and stay in the hunt in the NFC playoff chase. On both ocassions, they laid an egg. We'll now see what kind of character this team has as they play out the string in the second half. Never in my wildest dreams did I expect this team to be in this situation at the halfway point.

I'd have to agree. The passion has died and so has that spark that provided motivation and desire. If the quarterback isn't protected, he can't perform, no matter who it is. The defense seems flat. But the hope still glows----Go Bears.
