That loss tells us everything we need to know about why this Bears team is 5 and 7. With 12 minutes to play, the Bears held a nine point lead and couldnt hang on. When you cant run the football and arent very good on defense, you have no chance to put teams away. Sure, there's enough blame to spread around, but once again the defense is in the crosshairs. After giving up just 150 yards in the Giants first 8 drives, the Bears defense was torched for 232 yards and 2 touchdowns on the final 4 drives. Even more startling was the Bears winning the turnover battle, 4 - 0 and still losing. One bright light was the continued "solid" play of Rex Grossman. Im starting to believe Rex may be their best option for 2008, and yes, I am officially turning my attention to NEXT season.
