Become a global warming warrior

Pay it forward. Replace incandescent light bulbs with compact fluorescents, but also buy a couple extra fluorescents and give them to a friend or neighbor. Ask them to do the same thing. On average, each 75 watt bulb replaced with an equivalent compact fluorescent 25 watt bulb will result in 100 fewer pounds of carbon diocide being released over a year. Be sure to save those spent fluorescent bulbs for disposal at a household hazardous waste collection event – they contain a small amount of mercury.
